Just a question, need some perspective m4w Just a question ladies, any feedback would be helpful.
So I have been married for about 7 years. At first (while we dated and were engaged) everything was great. We were happy we were hopeful of the future. Plans were put in place to go out and explore life (move to a different state, get involved with nature), but once we got married everything changed. Suddenly she decided that we were not going to move, that she was not a nature lover (as she previously made her self out to be). Every other weekend we were going to her parents, and when I said anything but "lets go" I was rebuffed. Granted there were some medical issues going on, so going to see her parents was not a big deal as long as it was in moderation (I did not feel that it was in moderation). All of our vacation time was used to go to spend more time with her parents (which left no time for me to visit my mom). At best, I would see my mom once a year, a couple of years I did not even make it home to see her. I realize that I chose to live 2500 miles from her, but it did not mean that I did not want to see her ever! I felt unsupported because whenever I spoke up about wanting to go home I was ignored, or I was told "yes, most definitely. We will go to visit your mom." Then when it came time, I got "I dont have any leave, sorry." Then I would get to my mom and tell her that I cannot make it home this year, maybe next year. Granted I wanted to go home at Christmas time, so I realize that it was selfish of me to want to spend Christmas with my mom, but I was willing to go home before or after, I did not care when, I just wanted to go home.
